I love getting up early on the weekends to hit up the Local Farmers Market. There are just so many great things about it, an early morning stroll with coffee in hand shopping fresh local produce and homemade goods in your own community. I also tend to check them out when I am traveling, it’s such a great way to get to know a new place, hear some live music, see what they have to offer and meet some locals. You can search you Local Farmers Markets wherever you happen to be. I love trying new things from different places, what better place to do so then from the local farmers markets? I almost always have my little shopping buddy with me, my 5 year old son. He loves being outside, seeing all the dogs, meeting new people and of course all the sweets they have to offer. He will without fail ask for a snow cone if one ever crosses our path. I especially love it when some beautiful produce catches my eye and when I get up to the table the person that grew it is actually there telling me about it with pride, it makes me feel like my purchase is one of love. It’s especially awesome when I come back the next week to buy more and I get the chance to compliment the farmers directly. This morning we hit up two before it got hot out and we came across all sorts of goodies. We came home with a huge bag of tomatoes and kale to take home.
