I first saw Miss Nadia G on her cooking show Bitchin’ Kitchen on the Cooking Channel and fell in love with her right away. I thought she was smart, funny, beautiful and a really good cook. She is Italian Canadian and started out with a web cooking series that transitioned into her TV cooking show. She has her own unique style that was totally unlike any I had ever seen in the cooking world, she was very refreshing. She is all rock n roll and girl power with a huge passion for food. I ended up getting hooked on her show, then I liked her fan page on FaceBook and I had to buy her 2 cookbooks from her website www.bitchinlifestyle.tv. Her show is just as much a comedy act as it is a cooking, it’s thirty minutes of quality entertainment, I laugh all the way through and get some great recipe ideas at the same time, for me it’s a win win. She has 3 other people on the show with her, The Spice Agent, Panos the fish and meat guy and Hans the scantily clad food correspondent. She has done such a nice job of really making the whole production her own and not caring about what anyone else thinks. In short its just something you have to check out, its pretty fun.
Both of her cookbooks, Nadia G’s Bitchin’ Kitchen Cookbook and Nadia G’s Bitchin’ Kitchen Cookin’ For Trouble are set up just like her shows, they are divided up in chapters like One Night Stand Breakfasts, PMScapades, Anxiety Blasters and Happiness=Bacon just to name a few of my favorites. The books are loaded with fun photos, some of the food and some of her being hilarious. She also has all sorts of advice, stories and life lessons thrown in between the recipes that will keep you laughing while cooking. She, like myself likes the spicier foods and so far I have tried her Spicy Shrimp Po Boys, Red-Hot Roasted Chickpeas and her Candied Bacon with Cayenne, they were all great and right up my alley. She has a little bit of everything so you are bound to find something new and interesting to try from her unique collection of recipes. I think for my next girl’s night in at my house the entire menu will come from these two cookbooks, I hope you get the chance to check them out.
