I made some pretty awesome Lemon Basil Frozen Yogurt the other night and it got my wheels spinning so I came up with this next. It’s actually been pretty warm here in Iowa the past week or so and we have been in the mood for some frozen treats to keep us cool. Once you make your own frozen yogurt at home you will be bummed out by all the money you’ve spent at the chain places. This is so much better, fresher, free from preservatives and coloring, you can make it organic and it’s cheaper. The thing I really like about making it at home is skipping the candy topping bar at the Fr-Yo places. I have a 5 year old and we can never just get the yogurt and fruit because of all the candy spread out in front of you on your way to the check out scale, when we have it at home he doesn’t even ask for the candy. Speaking of healthier frozen treats www.davidlebovitz.com has a really great and easy recipe for Blood Orange Sorbet for when you are in the mood for something dairy-free.
