We eat a ton of fruit at our house, especially whatever is in season and it’s so easy to find. My son usually has an apple and a banana for breakfast with his toast or cereal. We’ve been getting some really nice local melons and lot of berries here lately. I always have cut up fruit ready to eat in the fridge and whatever we have leftover or start to get sick of I freeze for smoothies. My theory on fruit salads is that you can cut up just about any kind of fruit and toss it in some nice citrus juice & zest, honey and a handful of chopped mint or basil leaves and it will be good. I have found that the more simple the recipe the better it seems to be when making a fruit salad. No need for cool whip or marshmallows, I think its best to let the fruit stand out and just enjoy it. Again this is more of an idea then a recipe, use what you like and what you have on hand to make it your own. www.southernliving.com has a bunch of other great Fruit Salad Ideas too.
